NADRA urges citizens to verify CNICs to avoid identity fraud
ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) urged citizens on Thursday to get their computerised national identity cards (CNIC) verified through the new CNIC verification system.
According to a press release, the new verification system has been designed for the convenience of the public and law enforcement agencies, so that they could verify a person’s identity through cellular phones for tenancy and other business purposes.
The verification would be done in real time communication with NADRA’s national data warehouse and will help tackle the menace of fake/forged CNICs and terrorism, the press release said.
The online verification system called NADRA Verisys, is also playing an important role for the verification of the particulars of any identity card-holder.
