NADRA finalises arrangements for IDPs’registration

KARACHI: National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has informed the Sindh government on Tuesday that it is making arrangements for the registration of the IDPs coming to the province from Swat, Malakand and other disturbed areas of NWFP and FATA.
NADRA General Manager Brigadier (Retd) Shakil Ahmed said this at a meeting held at the authority’s provincial headquarters on Tuesday. Sindh Home Department’s Special Secretary Kamran Dost represented the Sindh government. According to an official handout issued by NADRA, the authority has made arrangements for the registration of IDPs at its existing NSRC centers at Karachi and Hyderabad. In Karachi, these centres are in Baldia, Landhi, SITE and Safoora Goth, while in Hyderabad these are in Qasimabad and Latifabad. According to the special home secretary, it has been decided at the meeting that the IDPs would be encouraged to go for registration by providing them incentives.
