LAHORE: A music teacher associated with the Nazariya Pakistan Trust died of muggy weather during rehearsal for a function to be addressed by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif here on Friday.

Lateef Daniel, teaching national songs to students at the trust for five years, was rehearsing along with students for an awards distribution ceremony to be attended by the chief minister when he fell unconscious reportedly because of extreme humidity.

He was shifted to a nearby hospital but he breathed his last before receiving any medical aid.

His death was announced after the departure of Shahbaz Sharif to the sorrow of his students and colleagues at the trust.

Earlier speaking at the ceremony, the chief minister regretted that indifference of the previous federal government towards problems of the masses plunged the country into various crises.

Highlighting the importance of various energy agreements signed with Chinese firms during a recent visit of Beijing by the prime minister, he said the day was not far when there would be zero loadshedding in the country.
