Mobile phone website remains inactive for over three hours

ISLAMABAD: The website of recently launched mobile phone brand ‘M9’ remained inactive for more than three hours causing inconvenience to mobile phone users.

According to the spokesperson of the Chinese telecom giant here on Friday, the website remained dormant for few hours, but later resumed operation. The website received more than 275,000 hits and more than 30,000 people have booked their number in advance.

He added, “We were not expecting such huge feedback. The traffic crossed its maximum capacity but now we are expanding its limits and hopefully it won’t occur in the future.” One can find the links to M9’s twitter account, facebook fan page and youtube channel on its website www.m9.com.pk. The website also features a link “book your lucky number,” under which one can find out which mobile number will be lucky for them. Zong has collaborated with famous numerologist Waseem Jaffry for this offer.

The facebook fan page of the brand has garnered more than 5,000 people in just two days. Facebook fan page of M9 is holding different competitions for its members. The winners will be receiving scratch cards, iPod Nano and other give-aways.

Although there are speculations about what this product is actually going to be, most of the people believe that it has something to do with the services offered by the telecom company. A telecom analyst reports that “M9” customers will probably be able to make their own plan. With all the hype that the telecom giant had created, they have managed to grab their audiences but failed to handle the astounding response.
