Missing housemaid remains untraced

RAWALPINDI, March 12: The parents of a teenage housemaid, who went missing from her employer’s house, said the police were not doing enough to trace their daughter.

Kiran, 14, daughter of Allah Rakha had been employed as a housemaid at the house of Mohammad Akbar, House no 891, street 105 Sector G-9/4 for last three years. But Allah Rakha found his daughter missing when he went to see her on February 20.

Allah Rakha, the father of the girl said in his complaint lodged with the top police officials of Islamabad that he went to see his daughter at her employer’s house where he was informed that his daughter had been missing.

He said when he protested, the employer of his daughter filed a theft case against his daughter with the local police saying that his daughter had taken away cash and gold jewellery from his house.

He said that his daughter had either been kidnapped or sold to someone by her employer who was trying to hush up the incident and using his influence.

He demanded of the police high ups to investigate the case and bring the accused to justice.

ROBBERY: Robbers struck at two different places in the New Town Circle and took away huge cash, about 180 tolas of gold jewellery and electronic goods, leaving two women injured on Wednesday, police said.

In the first incident, five robbers entered a house in Satellite Town and looted gold ornaments, cash and electronic goods after taking the inmates hostage.

They looted Rs450,000 in cash and gold weighing 180 tolas.

In the latest instance, a gang of five robbers stormed the house of Mohammed Idris at 7th road on Wednesday night and held the women inmates at gunpoint.

The robbers snatched gold ornaments and cash from the family and escaped. The value of the looted cash and gold jewellery was estimated at Rs800,000.

Meanwhile, six vehicles were taken away from different parts of the city in last 24 hours, police said.

A car (LXL-7208) was stolen from the RA Bazar, a pickup van (RLF-4212) was taken away from Westridge, while a Toyota wagon (SB-1006) was stolen from Gangmandi. A Suzuki Khyber car (IDC-7098) was taken away from Sadiqabad, a Suzuki Mehran car (RIA-7963) was stolen from the RA Bazar while another car (RLF-2520) was taken away from the city police area.
