Mir Khalil-ur-Rahman’s death anniversary observed

LAHORE/ISLAMABAD: Glowing tributes were paid to the legendary journalist of the Subcontinent and the founder of Jang Group, Mir Khalil-ur-Rahman, on his 22nd death anniversary observed on Saturday in many cities and countries.

In Lahore, a simple but impressive ceremony was held at the Daily Jang office which was attended by a large number of workers.

They paid rich tributes to the celebrated journalist and writer who died in London on January 25, 1992. Quran khawani and fateha were also offered on the occasion, while special prayers were offered by Syed Saleh Muhammad Shah Hashmi and Hafiz Ghulam Akbar Jatoi.

In Islamabad, special prayers were offered for the soul of Mir Khalil-ur-Rahman in the Jang/The News Bureau.

The reporters of the Jang and The News, and marketing and other staff members participated in the ceremony.

Glowing tributes were paid to torch bearer of journalism for his valuable services.

Speakers said Mir Khalil-ur-Rahman was a unique personality who not only served Urdu but also gave a new vision to Urdu journalism. It was because of his hard work that today Jang Group is the most shining star on the sky of journalism.

He said after his death not only journalism was hurt but the country lost a great and veteran journalist whose gap shall not be filled in centuries. May Allah Almighty rest his soul in eternal peace.
