Minister takes notice of throwing acid on female teacher

ISLAMABAD – Minister for Law, Justice, Human Rights and Parliamentary Affairs Farooq H Neak has taken a serious notice of sexual molestation and throwing acid on face of female school teacher of Mandi Bahauddin and directed police to arrest the accused at the earliest.

He minaster summoned SSP Mandi Bahauddin Dr. Masood Ahmad, SHO Sardar Mandi Bahauddin, Adil and SHO Police Station I-9 Islamabad, Munawar Ali Meher to his office on Tuesday to get details on ongoing investigation into the tragic incident. Secretary Human Rights Division, Ministry of Law Faridullah Khan and Joint Secretary HR Division Khushdil Khaj Malik were also present on the occasion.

Naek said the democratic government will show zero tolerance in cases of violence against women and vowed to provide all necessary medico-legal to the victim. The minster also directed police to register a kidnaping case against the accused culprit, adding that protection of life and property of citizen is the top priority of the govt.

Earlier, the SSP informed the minister that the incident took place on September 1.

The accused Azhar lured the victim, Ms. ‘S’ by facilitating her to get an admission for her at Allama Iqbal Open University and brought her to Islamabad.

They spent couple of days at a local hotel and later the accused molested and threw acid on her face.

The grieved party reported the incident in Police Station Sardar, Mandi Bahauddin after a week and nominated three persons for raping and throwing acid on the face of the victim.

The SSP said two of the accused, Sajid and Mazhar, are already arrested while police is making efforts to arrest main accused, Azhar.

The victim is being treated at Burn Centre of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).
