KARACHI — The experts of Mass Communication have urged the media to play its due role to control the emerging menace of extremism in the country.

These views were expressed by different journalists during their visit to newly set up Awaaz Institute of Media Sciences (AIMS). Honouree Director of Awaaz Institute of Media Sciences Dr Shamsuddin and Director in Finance Ministry Riaz-ul-Hasan were also present on the occasion. The guests visited the first dedicated media institute and applauded the efforts of AIMS team for establishing the state-of-the-art institute, having an equipped laboratory, monitoring cell, studio and skilled faculty.

Ahmed Riaz said that media houses in various countries were organised in house programs for their media workers to enhance their skills adding that this was the reason that the journalists of these countries are performing their duties. He hoped that the AIMS would fill this gap and produce the committed journalists.
