Media men asked to be impartial

KARACHI: Adviser to the Sindh Chief Minister Haleem Adil Sheikh has said that media workers bear greater responsibility now than ever as the country has reached a crossroads but, unfortunately, they have been made to worry over their own livelihood which is dragging them away from their mission.

Speaking at a convention of the All Pakistan Newspapers Employees Confederation (Apnec) at the Karachi Press Club on Thursday evening, he urged media workers to work for the survival of the country above all politics.

Apnec Chairman Shafiuddin Ashraf said it was shameful that Sindh was the only province that was yet to make legislation vis-à-vis a labour policy. He said it seemed that the ruling Pakistan People’s Party was deviating from its founder leader’s popular manifesto of Roti, Kapra aur Makan.
