Media has assumed status of front-line of defence: Gondal
Lahore–Provincial Secretary Information Ashfaq Gondal has stated that media has assumed the status of front-line of defense in the present times.
Armies launched attacks much later in all the wars of the recent past before the media had already built the public opinion about the reasons and fallouts of those military campaigns, he said while addressing as chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony of the 3-day workshop titled “Media, Culture and Society” at the Institute of Communication Studies (ICS), Punjab University on Tuesday.
He said we need such expert journalists who are capable of presenting Pakistan as a peace-loving and moderate country before the world. He said it is necessary for such experts in communication skills that they follow the principles of balance and impartiality to play their effective role in clarifying the difference between “reality” and “perception”.
He said objectivity and accuracy of the news are the very important elements in journalism, and hold key importance for achieving higher positions in the field of journalism.
