Media centres to be set up in Sindh
LARKANA- Advisor to CM for Information Hamid Hussain has said that media centres would be set up in all regional directorates of information including Larkana, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad and Karachi to facilitate the Journalists’ Community for sending their news and photos to concerned news newspapers as media can play can a major role for the proper guidance, providÂing information, facilitation to create awareness within the society.
He said this presiding a meeting of Information Officers of Larkana region at Regional Directorate of Information Larkana on Thursday.
He directed the information officers to maintain close liaison with the media community as well as local administration and concerned departments for highlighting the govemment’s projects and development schemes initiated by government for the benefit and welfare of public.
He further said that despite the limited resources Sindh Information Department. including its Regional and District Offices functioning more effectively and all out efforts are being made to provide latest equipments and required facilities including computers, faxes, vehicles and furniture to the Information Offices for further improvement.
Earlier, the Advisor visited the media offices of print and electronic media representatives at Larkana and listened their problems and assured to solve those as earlier as possible.
Later-on, the Advisor visited the Radio Pakistan Larkana where Station Director Mr. Kausar Buriro welcoming the Advisor informed him functioning of Radio Pakistan Larkana. The Advisor visited the various sections of Radio Pakistan and appreciated the efforts of Station Director for broadcasting various social, cultural, educational and other recreational as well as knowledgeable and informative programmes for listeners.
The Advisor also inaugurated a Unit of MQM at UC-2 Shaikh Zaid Colony Larkana and addressed workers of Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). He also visited the zonal Office of MQM Lark” and met the workers and local leaders there.
Zonal Incharge (MQM) Larkana Aftab Soomro briefed the activities and problems of Zonal Office. The Advisor assured them to solve the same on top priority basis.
