Media cell to check flood relief efforts
KARACHI: The provincial government has set up a media coordination cell, which would act as the monitoring team comprising elected representatives of the masses and fraternity of the journalists to check the flood relief efforts of the government.
Â“It is our endeavour to reach out to the masses in a transparent manner through the media and extend all facility to the people affected by rains and floods in various areas of the province,” said Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, while addressing a press conference here on Tuesday.
He said that the government was fully aware of the plight of the poor people who suffered a lot due to present natural calamity and added that the government would leave no stone unturned to support the people in distress.
“Despite very serious health problems our leader President Asif Ali Zardari is with us while Prime Minister Syed Yusaf Raza Gilani cancelled his very important overseas visit to remain with the poor people in need,” he further said.
