WE live in a rapidly-changing world as a result of the great technological advancements made in the field of information technology.
Information sharing has become speedy and is widely available. This advancement has also helped the media to grow and bring many positive changes around the globe.
In a democratic set-up, responsibilities of the media increase. Not only does it increase the outflow of information, raising the level of awareness in public, but it also serves as a bridge between the people and the government, allowing interaction between the two.
The media in Pakistan is trying to enlarge its sphere rapidly, but is yet to realise its full role in promoting an informed citizenry.
Although it now enjoys much freedom, there are many barriers to cross before it can play its proper role in shaping an informed and dynamic society.
