Marriyum opens production, entertainment trade moot

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb says government will provide all possible assistance to revive film industry in the country. She was addressing the inaugural ceremony of a two-day National Production and Entertainment Trade Conference in Karachi on Saturday. She stressed upon artists to come forward and play their role in promoting and projecting soft image of Pakistan through their production.

Maryam Aurangzeb said Information Ministry will play the role of bridge between government and entertainment industry. She said soon the national artists’ convention will be convened in Islamabad and artists fund will be established to facilitate producers and artists.

Our Karachi correspondent Altaf Pirzado reports that there will be 18 sessions of the conference which are being attended and addressed by known personalities of electronic, print and digital media. Talking to media, the State Minister said that Karachi operation was launched with the consensus of all political parties.
