Man seeks arrest of daughter’s kidnappers

ISLAMABAD: A man has accused city police of protecting the kidnappers of his daughter and demanded legal action against the people involved in the incident.

Ali Ahmad, a resident of Garden Colony, told Dawn that his daughter was kidnapped on July 26, 2008 for a ransom Rs3 million. Later, on November 4, 2008 he was asked to take his daughter from Shahzad Town police station.

The police also failed to take action against the culprits involved in the incident, although they were nominated in the case. Encouraged by the police inaction the culprits started hurling threats to his family members and pressurising them to withdraw the case.

Mr Ali also alleged that the culprits in connivance with police also implicated him in a case. He said his requests to police and judiciary seeking justice and protection were also remained unattended.

He alleged that his tenant, a friend of his younger brother, was behind the kidnapping.
