Man held after wife dies of burns
SARGODHA, July 6: Police have arrested a man for allegedly setting his wife on fire and killing her, police and family sources say.
According to suspect Irfan, of Alwaqar Town, his wife Saima was working in kitchen when her clothes caught the fire and she died on the way to hospital. However, Shaukat, Saima’s brother, reported to Bhulwal police that his brother-in-law would torture Saima and after killing her, Irfan burnt her to conceal his crime.
According to police sources, Saima was married to Irfan 13 months ago. She gave birth to a baby girl three months ago, which enraged Irfan as he wanted a son. Police registered a case against Irfan and started investigation.
