Man accused of selling married daughter
SUKKUR: A resident of Bhindi Motayo Village near Sobhodero, has sought intervention of senior Sindh government officials to help recover his wife Waheeda, who was allegedly sold by his father-in-law to another man for Rs 100,000.
Talking to the local journalists Ali Haider Shaikh,
said he had married Mst. Waheeda daughter of Pir Bux Shaikh, a resident of Usta Mohammad in Balochistan eight years ago had four children.
He said 15 days ago his wife, along with four children Ameer Ali, Zameer Ali, Majid Ali and Ameeran, went to Usta Mohammad to see her parents. Accusing his father-in-law, he said that he forcibly got his wife married to an elderly person Altaf Golo after getting Rs.100,000 from him.
Quoting Ali Haider Shaikh, sources said, after forcible marriage, his wife Waheeda, somehow contacted him on cell phone and narrated her ordeal. After knowing this, Ali Haider contacted his father- in- law and asked him to return his wife, but he refused. Ali Haider, who earns his livelihood by selling grams, further told journalists that he cannot afford to go to the police or court of law and appealed to the high government functionaries to help him recover his wife.
Our Hyderabad bureau adds: A newly-married woman has threatened self-immolation if an uncle of her husband who criminally assaulted her was not brought to the book.
Ms Nazia and Mohammad Shahzad of Paretabad Hyderabad got married on the third day of last month and were residing with the uncle of the husband, Mohammad Iqbal Nagori.
She said that Mohammad Shahzad worked in a hospital in night shift. She alleged that only a month after her marriage Mohammad Iqbal Nagori criminally assaulted her after giving her some intoxicant, in which his wife also had a share.
Ms Nazia alleged to have met the same fate three or four times afterwards. She called for conducting a DNA to come to the truth of the whole thing.
