Man accused of raping 11-year-old girl held
KARACHI: The Sohrab Goth police have arrested a man for raping an 11-year-old girl. As per details, Tanveer Hussain’s daughter was gang raped on June 23 after being kidnapped from their house in Allah Rakha Goth.
Hussain said he approached the Sohrab Goth police after his daughter went missing, but they did not register his complaint. He said he recovered his daughter from a house in Sector 11-F of New Karachi after a three-day long search. He informed the police, but they refused to register the case again; however, when Sindh Chief Minister’s Adviser Sharmila Farooqui took notice of the incident, she instructed DIG West Abdul Majeed Dasti to register the case. A Sohrab Goth police official said they registered FIR No 546/10 against Ghulam Mohiuddin and two accomplices following the DIG’s orders. Police raided the New Karachi area and arrested Mohiuddin; however, his accomplices could not be arrested, the official added.
