Man’s nose chopped off for honour

MULTAN, September 25 2005: Three brothers chopped off the nose of a youth and threw him into a field for his alleged relations with their sister in the Khanpur police station area on Friday September 23, a police official said.

“We have registered a case against Muhammad Ramzan, Muhammad Manzoor and Hanif who had kidnapped Nazir Ahmad Malik, 20, of Jetha Bhatta, thrashed him and cut his nose to punish him for allegedly having sexual relations with their sister,” DPO Rahimyar Khan Syed Ahsan Mehboob told Daily Times on phone on Saturday.

He said Malik was referred to the Mayo Hospital Lahore.

Meanwhile, police have failed to arrest Hassan Abbas who had cut the nose and lips of his19-year-old sister-in-law Amna after she sought divorce from a court in Dera Ghazi Khan. However, police registered a case against the accused. Khusro Pervaiz Malik, the DG Khan DCO, ordered the EDO for health and medical superintendent of civil hospital to start free treatment of Amna’s injuries as directed by Saba Sadiq, CM’s adviser on social welfare.
