Madni’s death widely condoled

KARACHI- Sindh Governor, Mohammedmian Soomro, has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of prominent journalist, Mahmoood Ahmed Madni. He eulogised the journalistic services of the deceased and prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul.

He also offered condolences over the demise of the mother of the Managing Director, PTV, Mirza Yusuf Baig. Meanwhile, the Governor also visited Haroon Villas and condoled with former Governor Mahmood Haroon on the demise of his sister-in-law, Khadija Ghani. He offered Fateha for the departed soul.

DR SAIFY: The Vice-Chancellor of Karachi University, Prof Dr Zafar Saeed Saify, expressed deep sorrow on the demise of veteran journalist, Mahmood Ahmed Madni. In a condolence message on Monday, he recalled the contributions of the deceased in the field of journalism and said that these would be long remembered.

PFUJ, KUJ: The president and secretary-general, Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) Saeed Aasi and Sajid Aziz respectively, and president and secretary- general, Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ) Ali Hamza Khan and Masood Anwar respectively, have condoled the demise of former Editor, daily Jang, Mahmood Ahmad Madni.

In a joint statement, they expressed profound sorrow and grief over the demise of a senior and prolific journalist of the country. They paid tributes to the services he rendered in the field of journalism and for the cause of freedom of speech.

They prayed to Almighty Allah to rest his soul in eternal peace and give strength to the bereaved family to bear the loss.
