LG minister asks town Nazims to hold open Kutcheries

Sindh Minister for Local Government, Muhammad Hussain, has directed the town Nazims to hold regular open Kutcheries in their respective areas, at least once in a week, to resolve the grievances of the people.

The minister said that various problems of the people are brought to his notice during his weekly open Kutcheri in his office, open Kutcheries in towns and visits to various districts. He added that many of them are such which could be resolved at the UC, Town/Taluka and district level, said a press release on Saturday.

He said that this was because the masses are unable to contact their respective Nazims personally, as most of them have no schedule of fixed days for meeting the general public. Hussain asked the Nazims to prepare a weekly schedule of open Kutcheries and inform the people of their respective areas about the same.

He said the main purpose of the local bodies system is to provide all basic amenities to the general public at their doorsteps and this objective cannot be achieved until the Nazims and other elected representative have a close liaison with the masses.
