Lawyers continue strike against murder of Rashid Rahman

FAISALABAD: Members of the District Bar Association on Friday observed a complete strike against the murder of Rashid Rahman, advocate.

The strike was observed on the appeal of Punjab Bar Council. DBA Secretary Ejaz Ahmad expressed concern over the killing of lawyers in Rawalpindi, Multan and other places and appealed to the government to make foolproof security measures on courts premises to save the lives of lawyers and litigants. He said the DBA members would continue the boycott of local courts on every Friday and Saturday to press for demand for establishment of High Court Bench in Faisalabad and other four divisional headquarters of the Punjab.

MULTAN: Lawyers observed a complete strike in the district courts and the Multan LHC bench and lawyers did appear before any court of law in protest and the whole court work remained suspended. The Multan High Court Bar Association President, Syed Athar Shah, said the lawyers around the country observed a strike on the appeal made by the Pakistan Bar Council. He said the lawyer bodies throughout Pakistan were observing three-day mourning against the target killing of Rashid Rahman.

DBA president demanded an immediate arrest of the killers and urged the government to provide foolproof security lawyers.
