LARKANA: Another radio station in Larkana soon

LARKANA, February 18 2006: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sheikh Rashid Ahmed will inaugurate newly-established medium wave radio station in Larkana. This was stated by the controller home services of the Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation, Mohammed Sharif Shad, while talking to journalists here on Friday February 17.

He said that Larkana was culturally and literally a rich city and there was no dearth of talent.

Mr Shad said that transmission time of frequency modulation radio station in Larkana would be doubled from six to 12 hours from March 31. He said that radio stations in Khuzdar, Loralai, Zhoab and Gwadar had 12 hours broadcasting time then there was no hindrance in enhancing time for the Larkana station.

He said that we were waiting for uninterrupted power supply from Hesco for commissioning Larkana’s medium wave radio station that had been completed and handed over to the PBC in December 2004.

The controller is visiting radio stations in Balochistan and Sindh to assess immediate needs and requirements aiming at to update them.
