KIIT develops Urdu Text Editor software
KARACHI- The IT experts of Karachi Institute of Information Technology (KIIT) have developed a basic computer software, Urdu Text Editor.
According to the institute, the software will soon be launched in the market for general use. The source code would also be freely made available for researchers and developers on the KIIT website.
The software, Urdu Text Editor has a basic text editing functionalities where a user can type, save and retrieve Urdu text files in standard Urdu text format UTX. This format has been approved by Urdu Language Authority and Government of Pakistan.
KIIT has started a Urdu software Research and Development Forum where researchers and software developers are working on different projects of Urdu software computing.
