Karo-kari claims three lives

LARKANA: Two men and a woman were killed on the pretext of karo-kari in two separate incidents on Tuesday.

Suhno Chandio, a labourer, shot dead his wife Shahzadi, 30, in their home in Dalil Chandio village in the Drigh area of Qambar taluka.

Later, Suhno shot dead Roshan Chandio, 38, at a nearby farm. He suspected that the couple had illicit relations.

So far neither anybody has turned up at the area police station to lodge an FIR nor the police have registered a case on behalf of the state.

In Hyderabad, a young man was gunned down by his relative in Buriro village.

According to Baldia SHO Saghir Sangi, Abdul Razzaq Buriro, a married man, eloped with Gul Bano, the wife of his brother-in-law Muntazim Buriro, Tuesday morning.

The couple reached the shrine of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai in Matiari district where Gul Bano’s brother Mohammad Ali spotted them and brought them back to their village, Mr Sangi said.

On arrival at his home, the SHO said, Mohammad Ali gunned down Razzaq but his sister fled before he could kill her.

She was provided shelter by a neighbour, Abid Shah, who subsequently called police. The police arrested Mohammad Ali and recovered a pistol from his possession.
