Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ) demands setting up of wage board
KARACHI- Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ) has demanded of the labour ministry to constitute a wage board at the earliest.
It called upon the All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) to name its members for the board to pave the way for the announcement of interim relief for journalists and newspaper workers.
Demanding the reinstatement of services and payment of salaries, a meeting of the KUJ executive council held at Karachi Press Club expressed serious concern over the unlawful termination of services of journalists from Insaf Times and non-payment of salaries to journalists in the daily Amn.
The meeting demanded of the management of Leader and Falak Press, which owe at least eight months salaries to their staff, to make payment at the earliest.
