Karachi Literature Festival concludes

KARACHI: The Karachi Literature Festival (KLF) concluded on Sunday after holding of a large number of literary and brilliant activities. Besides other parts of the KLF, book fair remained the focus of a large number of visitors, where wide-ranging literary books were available on discount rates.

A stall of National Language Authority was also set up at the book fair, where authority’s translated and compiled books were kept. The children were a significant part of organisers focus, so several activities were designed to attract them. Puppet show, presented by the Rafi Peer Theater Workshop, remained the focus of school going children. Maliha of workshop told Daily Times that they designed the activity to deliver basic educational content in an attractive manner. A corner, where The School of Writing, was presenting an opportunity for students to win prizes through a contest to write one best line on the given pictorial topic, was also covered with crowd.

This year a new segment of film screening was also introduced under which several films were screened. The KLF also featured a large number of discussions, book launching ceremonies, performances, workshops and book fair. A large number of intellectuals, artists, critics, analysts and writers civil society people visited the venue. Besides this, various educational institutes also arranged special visits of their students and faculty members to be facilitated by the festival. asad farooq
