Kamal appreciates Intel Corp’s efforts

KARACHI,March 14,2005: Sindh Minister for Information and Technology Syed Mustafa Kamal has appreciated Intel Corporation for reaffirming its commitment to help establish an Information Technology Testing Plant worth $3 million in Sindh.

The minister talking to Ceikel D Danielson, Director Alliances, Intel Technology Asia Ltd and Sang Chong Lim, General Manager, Intel – China, Asia Pacific Solutions Group, who called upon him at his office, appreciated the much required support extended by the group for inception of a unit first of its kind in Pakistan.

He said that this would not only open new vistas of employment for local population but also help country carve a niche in the field of technology. The meeting was also attended by Kamil Hasan, Country Manager, Intel Pakistan, Sindh Secretary for IT, Bakshal Khan Gadaro and Additional Secretary, IT, A D Sanjnani.

The delegation appreciated the keenness expressed by Mustafa Kamal for promotion of IT on sound grounds across the province, adding that the plant would ease the process of manufacturing of computers and its parts ultimately enabling the country to be highly active in the field at global level.

The Intel officials said their organisation was keen to stage a revolution in the IT field with major focus on investing in countries contributing towards promotion of peace in the world.

The proposed site for testing plant was also announced which would be established on an area spread over 200 acres of land at Super Highway.
