Judge orders medical check-up of ‘tortured’ ex-Nazim
KHAIRPUR: The in charge sessions judge, Khairpur, has directed the civil surgeon of the town to examine and issue a medical certificate and treat a former union council Naib Nazim, who has accused some police officials of torturing him at a private place.
Advocate Liaquat Ali Shar told the judge that SHO Ahmed Pur, SHO Pir Jo Goth and other policemen illegally arrested Pakhar Khan Jagirani, a former Naib Nazim union council Manghniwari and tortured him and kept him at an unknown place for 12 days.
He said this is a violation of human rights. Police snatched cash and other items from him and later released him after getting bribe, he said. The advocate demanded registration of an FIR against the police officials concerned. The judge ordered registration of a case against the police officials concerned if the charges appeared to be correct.
