Journalists walk out of NA
ISLAMABAD: Journalists walked out of the National Assembly’s press gallery on Wednesday to protest the delay in implementation of the 7th Wage Board Award, and to press their demand that the government link its advertisement with the award’s implementation.
The National Assembly opposition also staged a token walkout to show solidarity with journalists. Later, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, the Pakistan Muslim League (PML) president, assured journalists that the government would again start talks with the stakeholders within 10 days. Amir Muqam, the federal political affairs minister, also accompanied the PML president. The PML president said he, along with the federal information minister, would soon meet with the prime minister to take up the wage board award issue.
