Journalists stage demo
NAUSHAHROFEROZE: Dozens of local journalists staged a protest demonstration against investigation police Naushahroferoze on Saturday.
The protesters started march from the press club here and reached Allah Wala Chowk, raising slogans against the police. They also staged a sit-in at the Chowk, as a result of which traffic flow remained suspended for half an hour.
The protest was led by vice-president and general secretary Press Club Naushahroferoze, Qazi Zulfiqar and Mazher Khaskheli and others
Jawaid Hanif Khanzada, Razzaq Mastoi, Sohail Rajper, and others said that police had lodged a fake case against local journalists Zahid Rajper and Younis Rajper after the assassination of Benazir Bhutto and investigation police had promised a team of journalists that the names of journalists would be cancelled in the FIR.
They demanded immediate removal of the names of the journalists from the FIR otherwise they would stage strong protest.
