Journalist’s role for highlighting issues lauded

Mirpurkhas: commissioner Ghulam Hussain Memon said that journalists have paid important role in the society by raising issues of the masses, pressing the authorities to pay attention.
He was addressing as chief guest at the ceremony of Sindh Sahafi Sangat held here on Thursday which was attended by deputy commissioner Nadeem Rehman Memon, SSP Riaz Ahmed Soomro and hundreds of journalists from Mirpurkhas, Digri, Umerkot, Mirwah Gorchani, Jhuddo, Naokot, Kot Ghulam Muhammad, Samro, Kunri, Khipro, Sanghar, Sindhri, Shadi Palli, Pithoro, Tando Jan Muhammad, Tandoadam, Shahdadpur Sofi and Mithi.
The commissioner further said that Mirpurkhas division had suffered the flood damages some months back, but the people including journalists’ community played a vital role for relief and rehabilitation of the affectees. He vowed to continue work for the rain-hit.
