Journalists rally against Pakistan People’s Party leader

JACOBABAD- Journalists of Jacobabad took out a protest rally against the misbehavior with local journalist Haider Magsi by the guards of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) District President Sardar Muqeem Khoso.

The rally, led by senior journalist Dr Amir Bux Bhatti started from the Press Club, Jacobabad and culminated at B-E Chowk, where Pervaiz Abro, Mukesh Ropeta, Mustafa Ali Khan and Liaquat Brohi, in their speeches, strongly condemned the attack on Magsi and said that Sardar Khoso could never suppress the freedom of press.

The journalists demanded of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairperson Benazir Bhutto to remove Sardar Muqeem Khoso from the party post. The journalists observed a black day and a token hunger strike for two hours out side the Press Club. They demanded the arrest of those named in the FIR, including PPP District Sardar Muqeem Khoso.

The leaders of various political parties strongly condemned Sardar Muqeem Khoso for the attack on the Journalist. PPP leaders Mir Aijaz Jakhrani, Panah Abro and Aslam Abro, District President Asif Zardari Release Committee Mir Mumtaz Jakhrani, Provincial General Secretary Sindh People’s Youth Organisation Nadeem Qureshi and President Citizen Ittehad Jacobabad Akram Abro reached the Press Club and expressed solidarity with the journalists. JUI District General Secretary Dr AG Ansari, STPP District President Ali Mohammed Lashari also participated in the demonstration and condemned the act. They said that Sardar Muqeem Khoso after failing in the politics had been resorted to suppress the freedom of press.

They also demanded of PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto to remove Sardar Muqeem Khoso from the party post to save the PPP in Jacobabad.
