Journalists protest sealing of Press Club
ISLAMABAD – The journalist crops on November 2, boycotted the Senate proceedings to protest the police’s sealing of the Rawalpindi Press Club under instructions from top Punjab government functionaries.
The journalists also condemned the registration of a first information report (FIR) against some of their colleagues. The FIR was lodge on behalf of former press club president Muhammad Nawaz Raza.
After the boycott, Senate Chairman Mohammadmian Soomro said he hold the press in high esteem.
He directed State Overseas Pakistanis Minsiter Tariq Azeem to listen to the journalists’ grievances and asked the press to end their boycott.
