Journalists protest attack on TV office
TANDO MUHAMMAD KHAN – Journalists staged a rally in TM Khan on Tuesday against the attack on a private television office in Karachi on last Monday.
Carrying placards and banners, the journalists termed the assault as an attempt to gag the media. They asserted that the rulers did not want to face the truth and wanted to intimidate journalists through attacks.
The rally, which started from the Press Club and was also joined by local people, was led by TM Khan Press Club President Shahzad Subhopoto, Abdul Karim Shaikh, Muzaffar Rind, Amir Jaiffari, Jamil Memon, Munir Brohi, Khuda Dino Dars, Umar Buledi, Zahid Qureshi and Muhammad Usman Khatri. After marching through different roads, the rally culminated peacefully.
