HYDERABAD, July 21 2006: Several journalists from Badin and Hyderabad observed a hunger strike on Tuesday outside Hyderabad Press Club in protest against the disappearance of a journalist, Mehruddin Marfi. Marri, a correspondent for the Sindhi Daily Kawish, went missing after he went to a police station in Thatta on June 27. His family said the police had kidnapped Marri on his return home. The police deny the charges. The protester held placards and demanded of the government to disclose the whereabouts of the missing journalist and to ensure his production before a court of law if a case had been filed against him. -STAFF REPRTER
