Journalists flay PID,SID over negligence
LARKANA – The journalist community strongly condemned the non-professional attitude of the Pakistan Information Department and Sindh Information Department administrations for not facilitating media during the coverage of newly-elected Prime Minister faja Pervaiz Ashraf’s visit to Garhi Khuda Bakhsh here on Sunday.
The PID failed to facilitate journalists for a proper coverage of the PM’s arrival and visit. It has been a regular practice of the district administration and Sindh Information Department not to facilitate journalists to have coverage on the occasion.
The journalists have decided to boycott all official programmes of Pakistan Information Department (PID) and Sindh Information Department (SID) in Larkana. Scores of journalists held protest on the occasion against the PID and SID, and held them responsible for anti-media attitude. They said is has been practised to hide inefficiency and corruption of the departments concerned.
Meanwhile, the Sindh Sahafi Sangat also strongly condemned the PID and SID, and said it feels deeply grieved over the situation. SSS chairman Noor Sindhi, central leaders Allah Bakhsh Kumbhar, Yousuf Ganghro, Nazir Ahmed, M B Abro, Anjum Bughio, Muhammad Ayub, and others appealed to President Asif Au Zardari, the PM, SimTh CM and Governor to take notice of criminal negligence of the administrations concerned.
