Journalists allege harassment by minister

HYDERABAD: Two journalists of Golarchi have alleged that they were assaulted and their houses ransacked by police at the behest of a provincial minister.

Meharuddin, a reporter of daily Sindhi newspaper “Kawish” and Sarwar Jamali, a reporter of daily Sindhi newspaper “Koshish”, told a press conference at the Hyderabad Press Club that they were beaten up by the police on the directives of Mr Rahoo and

his brother Aslam Rahoo. The journalists said this was done because they had filed stories against the provincial minister and his brother. They said the provincial minister was forcing them not to file the stories.

The journalists alleged that police entered their houses and maltreated their family members including women. They reported the matter to SSP Badin who assured them justice. They demanded of the governor Sindh to take action against DSP and SHO Golarchi.
