Journalist shot dead by Nazim

MANSEHRA: Jan A union council Nazim allegedly killed a journalist on Abbottabad road on Thursday.

Police said Mansehra-based journalist Sajid Tanoli was driving a car when he was signalled to stop. Khaild Javed, Nazim Union Council City No.3, Mansehra, allegedly dragged him out of the car and shot him six times.

It is reported that the journalist had written against the Nazim in a newspaper and had received threats over the past three days. Tanoli, who worked for Shumal, had written in a story that Khalid sold liquor, said a police officer Muhammad Iqbal.

The Mansehra Union of Journalists condemned the murder of tanoli and demanded arrest of arrest of culprit within 24 hours.

Police have arrested Khalid’s brother and a cousin, because the victim’s relatives accused them of involvement in the shooting, Iqbal said.
