Journalist injured in Balochistan dies
PESHAWAR: A newspaper reporter injured in violence in Balochistan last week died in a Karachi hospital on Thursday.
Wasi Ahmed, a newspaper reporter, had been shot and injured in Khuzdar district on April 11 and taken to a Karachi hospital.
The World Press Freedom and Reporters Without Borders (RWB) organisations have expressed shock at the death of Ahmed. “The abduction and murder of three Baloch leaders and the constant threats against Baloch journalists and human rights activists are unacceptable, but they must not be used as grounds for acts of revenge against the press,” RWB said in a statement late on Thursday.
