Journalist’ bullet-riddled body recovered

QUETTA: A bullet-riddled body of a Baloch journalist was recovered from Quetta on Friday, said police. On a tip-off, the police recovered body from Barech Town within the jurisdiction of Sariab police and moved it to Bolan Medical Complex Hospital for autopsy where he was identified as Rehmatullah Shaheen. Hospital sources said the victim was shot in the head that resulted into instant death as the body was also bearing some torture marks. Family members of the victim said the government agencies were responsible for the killing of Rehmatullah Shaheen who was abduct last month by unidentified people.

Rehmatullah Shaheen was a journalist and a poet. The police handed over the body to his heirs after completing legal formalities. The Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP), a Balochistan-based organisation struggling for the recovery of missing persons, said more than 121 bullet-riddled bodies of the Baloch missing persons had been recovered from different parts of the province during past eight months who were allegedly abducted by security and government agencies.
