Jirga resolves Karo-Kari dispute
SUKKUR: A Jirga which was held in the village of Chandan near Thul on Tuesday resolved a Karo-Kari dispute between Buriro and Khoso tribesmen. Sardar Umer Daraz Bhangar, Mumtaz Buriro and UC Nazim Misri Pir Ahmed Ali Khoso jointly presided over the Jirga, while hundreds of Khoso and Buriro tribesmen attended. After hearing both the parties, the Jirga declared Mohammad Sharif Khoso Karo and imposed a fine of Rs 700,000 on him, out of which Rs 300,000 were paid on the spot to Nabi Bux Buriro and his brother Majnoo Buriro, while the remaining amount would later be paid in three equal installments. Sharif was declared Karo some six months ago, after which both the parties had registered cases against each other. However, after the verdict of the Jirga both the parties decided to withdraw the cases.
