JI criticizes Belgian TV for blasphemous programs
Karachi, Sept 24 (PPI): Amir Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Dr Merajul Huda Siddiqui has vehemently condemned a Belgian TV channel for showing sacrilegious material, blaspheming the holy prophet Hazrat Essa (AS).
In a statement issued here Monday, he said Western media was disgracing the holy prophets by publishing or showing sacrilegious material. Dr. Merajul Huda warned such acts by a Belgian TV channel would not be tolerated and they would have to seek apology for this blasphemous act.
He said on the one hand the Western media was disgracing the holy prophets while on other hand it is terming this shameful act press freedom. He said freedom of press also has its limits. “The United Nations is reluctant to prepare a code on freedom of expression,” he added.
JI leader said no religion allows profanity of any religion. He urged nation to raise their strong voice against blasphemy of holy prophets.
