Japanese Calendar exhibition 2013 starts

KARACHI: The Japanese calendars are good messengers to introduce the huge variety of aspects of Japanese culture into different societies. This was stated by Akira Ouchi, Consul General of Japan, on the occasion of inauguration ceremony of Japanese calendars 2013 at Japan Information and Culture Centre on Monday.

Talking to Daily Times, he said basic purpose of the exhibition was to create awareness among Pakistan society about Japanese culture through different categories of calendars. Calendars exhibitions are always helpful to illustrate the beauty, culture, traditions and lifestyle of Japan at foreign levels, he added. The exhibition is being held with the collaboration of Pakistan Japan Business Forum (PJBF) and Pakistan Japan Cultural Association, Sindh (PJCA) and will continue till January 25. At the exhibition, about 100 Japanese calendars were displayed and categorised as art, landscape, ikebana, kimono, architecture, and beauty of our seasons and others. They portray Japan ’s richness of traditional arts, advanced technology. Fatima Surria Bajia, Huma Mir and other renowned personalities attended the inauguration ceremony while Beo Rana Zafar, famous showbiz personality, was the chief guest at the event. abrar hamza
