Installations of state owned radio in Balochistan attacked

Unknown persons fired two rockets at the premises of high-power transmitters of the state owned Radio Pakistan on August 15 in the town of Khuzdar in Pakistan’s restive province of Balochistan. Two days earlier on August 13 the radio station of Radio Pakistan in the town of Gwadar was attacked with hand grenades.

There were no casualties in either incident. Muhammad Khan Sasoli, president of Khuzdar Press Club told PPF that the boundary wall of the radio transmitters suffered some damage, but the radio transmission continued undisturbed. Sasoli said that Lashkar-e-Balochistan, a militant separatist organisation, has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Bahram Ali, Deputy Secretary of Gwadar Press Club told PPF that the transmission of the also radio station continued uninterrupted. He said Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility for the attack.
