Information Technology policy being reviewed
KARACHI- The present government is laying highest importance to the promotion of information technology in the country. An information technology policy and action plan has been finalised and is presently being examined by the government before its announcement.
This was stated by ex-Senator Syed Mazhar Ali, Chairman of the Information Technology Commission, while speaking as chief guest on the occasion of presentation of the report of national information and communications technology and manpower and skills survey 2000 at a local hotel.
He congratulated the Computer Society of Pakistan and South East Asian Regional Computer Confederation for conducting the ICT manpower and skills survey in Pakistan and stated that this will provide extremely valuable data about information technology usage, availability of manpower skills and future requirements of the country.
