Information Technology (IT) relief to software companies to help boost Forex earnings

KARACHI- The Internet Service Providers Association of Pakistan (Ispak), while appreciating the government’s decision of exempting the profits of software companies from the income tax till 2,016, has said that the relief would help increase the much-needed foreign exchange for the country. Ispak President Sanaullah Bhutta, said that due to government decision Pakistan would be able to enhance its software exports tremendously. He said the illegal software exports would also be stopped.

Bhutta said that the decision would also help promote information technology in the country and provide an opportunity to Pakistani software engineers to get them recognized internationally.

Bhutta, however, demanded of Federal Minister for Science and Technology Dr Ata-ur-Rahman to also exempt the ISPs from various taxes in order to promote the fast growth of Internet in the country. He lauded minister’s efforts for taking bold steps for the rapid growth of information technology in the country.
