Indian firm desires ventures with local software companies

KARACHI, May 02,2005: Chief Executive Officer TATA Consultancy Services, Subramanian Ramadorai on May 1 invited Pakistani IT, financial, textile and other institutes to earn benefit from the TCS experiences and expand their respective industry through TCS’s generated global business practices. S. Ramadorai, who is also Chairman National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASCOM), was speaking to journalists prior to a reception hosted in honour of visiting Indian delegation by Pakistan Software Houses Association (Pasha) here at a local hotel.

The TCS delegation, after meeting Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Illahi and IT/business tycoons in Lahore, is due to meet Dr Ishrat Husain, Governor State Bank of Pakistan, to asses areas for synergy in Karachi.

Briefing on services rendered by the TCS, its CEO apprised that being part of TATA Group, the Consultancy Service was present in 33 countries and 6 of 10 most fortune companies were enjoying from its benefits in banking, finance, telecom, manufacturing and other fields.

When his attention was drawn to IT status in Pakistan, the TCS CEO affirmed, “the number of IT companies here is competitive, they can contribute here and abroad alike.”
