India violating human rights in held Kashmir: Fazl
ISLAMABAD: The people of Indian Held Kashmir are being treated like slaves as they are not allowed to perform their religious rituals, said Chairman Kashmir Committee, Senator Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman.
Commenting on ban of Muharram processions in Occupied Kashmir, he said, before winning the membership of the United Nation Council on Human Rights, India had pledged not to violate human rights, the Senator said, adding that India considers Kashmir its colony but denies political, religious and social rights to the Kashmiris, which is complete violation of human rights.
Not allowing the Kashmiri people to take out Ashura processions in their ancestral territory in accordance with their traditions and faith is condemnable, the Senator emphatically stated. As many as 700,000 Indian soldiers have made lives of Kashmiris miserable, Maulana Fazal-ul-Rehman expressed, adding that India would have to implement the UN resolutions that it has agreed to and grant fundamental rights to Kashmiris.
