IFJ calls to ensure press freedom
Karachi , by an agency, harassing and threatening him of dire consequences ,has demanded of the Chief Executive and President Musharraf and Federal Minister for Inforamtion Nisar Memon to ensure freedom of journalism in the country.
In an e-mail message fo them IFG expressed on Friday their grave concern on the unfortunate incident of abduction of an editor and demanded that threats and harssment to journalists be stopped forthwith and they may be allowed to perform their professional duties freely without fear.
IFJ alleged that Muzaffar Aijaz was picked up by an agency while going to home form his office on July, 24,2002.
During detention he was handcuffed and shackled and kept blinkfolded which is an inhuman treatment.-(PPI)
